Users are now more likely to purchase movie tickets in advance, instead of in person when arriving at the theater. The use of third party ticketing systems create an unnecessary middleman and take a percentage of ticket purchases.
Create a straightforward, independent ticketing app where users can purchase tickets, reserve seats, and access purchased tickets.
User Journey
Commonly used by local theater chains, but hidden service fees and indirect customer service are pain points for users. Examples include Fandango and Atom Tickets.
Provides benefits for users purchasing tickets directly, but apps can be confusing for some since they need to cover locations nationwide. Examples include AMC Theatres and Regal Cinemas.

Findings from usability studies included:
Users struggled to locate previously purchased tickets.
Users were unsure of what step they were on during the ticket purchasing process.
Users wanted a search function as another path to find a movie.
